Redskins come in 24th in our Preseason Power Rankings

Robert Griffin III’s arrival has people in Washington excited and his addition has helped the Redskins finish 24th in our Preseason Power Rankings.

Is the addition of a long needed franchise quarterback enough to justify this ranking? Or have we lost our collective minds when it comes to a team that was 5-11 last year and still has plenty of other weaknesses in the lineup?

As always, we count on PFT Planet to let us know where we stand. Take a moment to vote in the poll below and make your voice heard about where the Redskins should rate as we get ready for the 2012 season.

you mean the team that beat the Superbowl champs twice with turnover-saurus Rex at quarterback? I think they may improve greatly.

Acceptable. But haters beware, the Redskins are a sleeping giant who are about to wake up and dominate now that our phoenom RGIII has arrived brother. HTTR.

I just dnt understand how he is classified as a franchise QB and has not proved anything in this league…

Considering they beat the Giants and almost beat the Patriots with QBs no better than marginal backups for starters, one could make a case for a much higher ranking.

As a Skins fan I can live with this preseason ranking. Until we see RG3 in live action and how the rest of the offense comes together, I couldn’t really justify ranking them much higher.

I’m predicting an 8-8 record, which should put the ‘Skins somewhere in the middle of the pack. Improved QB and WR play, more depth along the O-line, which is not as bad as some think it is, and a solid D should put the team somewhere in the 16-20 range vis-a-vis the other teams, so 24th is a tad low.

Lost your collective mind for jumping a team 3 spots from where they were originally slotted to draft? That makes no sense. Considering they added RGIII, it would nonsensical to move them up any less than 3 spots.

Thats stupid and ridiculous!!! Easily top 15 in the nfl! Lost 5 games by less than 5 pts last year!!!

I think the ranking is about right any team that replaces Rex “F-it I’m going deep” Grossman deserve a boost of at least 5 spots on the power rankings.

@skinsfan24….and Skins fans in general….don’t take this ranking as disrespect. Your team has a lot of new offensive toys which adds question marks. I think RG3 is an upgrade and Morgan (miss him a LOT) and Garcon are as well, but they have to learn a new offense and gel together as well. That is an uphill climb. How fast all that happens is also a question mark. Your team finally looks like it is putting together a competitor for a SB, you just have to be patient. Good luck.

You have to remember that they are in a division with 3 much better teams. 4th place in the NFC east will yield them no better than 6-10. No secondary and aging linebackers make for plenty of shoot outs. RG3 will play a max of 10 games with his style of play and injury risks. I am an Eagles fan who would love to see the skins beat up on the Giants and Cowgirls, but I just don’t see it…
