The Cowboys need a third receiver. Receiver Terrell Owens needs a job.
That’s where the See Spot Run logic ends; owner Jerry Jones has made it clear that the Cowboys aren’t interested in a reunion with Owens.
Of course, that doesn’t stop folks from asking members of the team what they’d think of T.O., Part Deux.
Tight end Jason Witten, who once was the target of a schoolgirl-style complaint from Owens that Witten and quarterback Tony Romo conspired to find ways to get the ball in the tight end’s hands more often, said he has no opinion on the possibility.
“It would be indifferent for me,” Witten said. “I think it would be hard for me to make a comment on it really. I’m just out of that situation and let those guys handle that.”
It’s a smart move by Witten, because Witten knows that Owens won’t be back in Dallas, even if every receiver on the roster tears both ACLs simultaneously.
