I'm actually quite fascinated with the addition of Booker. I've long preferred a shiftier backup option in the backfield, someone who is good in the passing game while able to operate out of more open sets. Someone who can give Forte a break on 3rd downs, perhaps making him stronger at the end of the year.

Michael Bush is a very capable backup for the heavy duty, b/w the tackle work, and Booker could be that shifty guy to add to the mix. Of course, he has to beat out Harvey Unga, Kahlil Bell, and Armando Allen to secure that 3rd spot (hard to see Booker kept around as a 4th RB).

FSU and Bears fan here. Lorenzo was highly touted out of HS, but ran behind some truly awful offensive lines while at FSU and largely under the truly awful offensive scheme of Jeff Bowden as well.

It's not all other people's faults though. Booker is quick and shifty, but falls down with VERY little contact. Personally, I thought he should have been moved to slot receiver during his career here. He's better in space than trying to make it past the part of the field where arms can trip you up and, when you're Lorenzo, often do.

Can't imagine him being more than a special teamer and 3rd down back insurance policy in case Forte is injured and the Bears need to platoon Bush & Booker.

There must be something about Kalil Bell that the coaches or management doesn't like. He's seemed decent every chance he has had, but they never seem comfortable having him be the #2 or 3 RB
