Getty ImagesRobert Griffin III wasn’t the only Redskins rookie to start the day without a signed contract.
He also won’t be the only one to end it with a change in that status. The team announced that offensive lineman Josh LeRibeus, the team’s third-round pick, agreed to terms on a less-anticipated deal on Wednesday. Both players have been absent while their fellow rookies were working at team headquarters this week, but the Redskins now have all nine draft picks in the fold.
LeRibeus played guard at SMU, but the Redskins have been giving him time at center this spring. Although the Redskins could use an upgrade over Chris Chester at guard, LeRibeus isn’t likely to start anywhere as a rookie until he has greater mastery of the team’s blocking scheme. That might not come until 2013 when LeRibeus could wind up any any spot in the interior of the line.
The number of unsigned draft picks keeps on dropping and it shouldn’t be long before the whole group is under contract.
