Falcons slide into 12th spot in PFT Preseason Power Rankings

Thomas Dimitroff, Mike Smith AP

Ostensibly, the top 12 positons in our Preseason Power Rankings represent the playoff teams.

And no team needs a playoff win more than the Falcons.

Despite their regular season success, they’ve yet to push through with a playoff win under the current regime, a sore spot for Falcons fans who haven’t seen a postseason victory since Jan. 15, 2005, when the franchise looked much different.

Building a stable base is the goal of any front office, and general manager Thomas Dimitroff has done that, as the Falcons have front-line talent to match with anyone in the league.

But everything hinges on getting that elusive playoff win.

Take a look at our full preview here, and tell us if you think we’ve overrated or undervalued them going into this season.

Every team that has beaten the Falcons in the playoffs have went to the Super Bowl. And 2 of the teams won ie. Green Bay NY. A loss is still a loss however, if I did or do loose in the playoffs it is to a Super Bowl team. So I guess you can say road to the Super Bowl in the NFC goes thru ATL!
