Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis has still not declared publicly whether he’ll report to training camp on time. But he has apparently told people close to him privately that he will not hold out.

The Associated Press, reports that Revis has decided to attend camp, according to a person who spoke on condition of anonymity because the decision had not been made public.

The source speaking anonymously, and Revis’s refusal to make his decision public, is odd: If Revis is going to show up to training camp, as his contract requires, why doesn’t he just say so and get the whole thing over with? Maybe Revis enjoys all the attention and wants to milk the drama for a few more days.

Revis held out of training camp two years ago until the Jets gave him a new four-year contract. That new contract paid him $32.5 million in its first two seasons, but he’s due “only” $13.5 million over the next two seasons, and Revis has said he expected when he signed the deal that the Jets would give him a raise if he kept playing well.

That expectation has not yet been met, but Revis is apparently willing to report to training camp anyway, and he’ll be there on Thursday.
