APSafety Deon Grant played in every game last season and started most of them, including the Super Bowl, for the Giants last season. But he has remained unsigned since hitting free agency in March.
With training camps opening this week, however, Grant told the Augusta Chronicle that he expects to re-sign with the Giants at some point during camp.
It’s not clear whether the 33-year-old Grant was just expressing an optimistic outlook or whether the Giants have given Grant some reason to think they plan to sign him. If the Giants do plan to bring him back, you’d think they would have done it by now.
But Grant said this is the first time in a few years that he has gone through an offseason without needing surgery, and that, along with taking up boxing workouts and improving his diet, have him in better shape than he’s been in a long time.
“This is the first year in three or four years – and this was the longest one – that I can say I came out completely healthy,” he said. “I revamped everything and my body feels wonderful right now.”
And now Grant just needs someone to sign him.

Why not, dude us reliable and knows the system. He may be a little slower but is tough and okays the run well, its like a perfect fit and an insurance policy if a starter misses any time.
um, is reliable and plays the run, my bad…
Great locker room guy, hope they bring him back if only for his leadership qualities
This guy was a stud for the Vols!

If there key players can stay healthy throughout the season the Giants could easily repeat, especially with that kid out of Virginia Tech (RB David Wilson). Basically a faster stronger Lesean McCoy. Giants will do alot better than expected this year.
Bringing back Grant would be a plus for the Giants. Knows the system like a few ppl have said already but ive heard in huddles pregame and he really knows how to get the team fired up to play. Not to mention he played well for us last year!
He’s a good player.
