I always liked Murph and a couple years back he looked like a top 3 receiver… Seems to have gotten lost in the crowd however with all of the young talent at WR… If he had to go, glad he went to a team that I have no beef against… Nice pickup for Carolina, best of luck to you Louis!!

I’m liking these Raider fans comments. No negativity, just a bunch of good football conversation. Refreshing to read. Hope the deal works out for us. Murphy is solid and I think he’s gonna get a good bit of playing time having a decent amount of experience. Go Panthers!

Murphy has good deep speed, but is a bit shy in crowds. He reminds me of James Jett. If McKenzie gets a 5th for him it’s a decent trade for both clubs.

I like the move. If they bring enough receivers in, the odds are the Panthers will eventually find someone to compliment Smith.

Murphy WILL help upgrade that Panther offense. Murphy has good speed and a natural/fluid receiving mechanics.

Remember the huge catch he made in his 1st game on MNF against SD. Should of had 2 TD’s that game except for that hold the ball through the ground ruling. Was light years ahead of DHB for 1st 2 years then seemed to fall out of favor with Hue. Good luck.

This is an indication of just how strong this roster is shaping up. Great move, Reggie, in getting something for a guy who no doubt was going to be cut in a few months. With Criner, Moore, Ford, DBH, and Streeter there was simply no more room for a guy with questionable hands and alligator arms.

Even if this turns out to be a low draft pick this is a good move.

Good move for the Raiders. There was a good chance he wasn’t going to make the final roster and they also free up some more cap room. Also good for the Panthers as Murphy has some ability, but couldn’t stay healthy the past couple of years. If they can keep him on the field he’ll help them.

Wildy inconsistent WR. Although he did catch “passes” from Russell for 1.5 yrs then Burce Gradkowski, Mcnown, Bolller, Palmer and any and all inbetween.

He is not an intermediate pass catcher, as he has t-rex arms in traffic, but he can work the deep seems, fade routes and his speed was always good for a big reverse run play every so often, solid blocker.

Interested to see the pick for the trade … or player? Murphy was a 4th rounder out of Florida, in the Tebow offense, in the shadows of Percey Harvin.

Word on the street is that Oakland is getting David Gettis, our 6th-round pick in 2010 from Baylor. Had 2 terrific games for the 2-14 Panthers, then tore his ACL on the first day of 2011 camp. As far as I can tell, I am the only NC resident that doesn’t think he’s going to be all-world. Never understood the faith people here have in him, since he only had 2 good games for a 2-14 team, but everyone around here loves him. If his knee is OK, he is the stereotypical Raiders receiver – can run the 40 in about a second and a half, has never run any route except fly, and fair to good hands.

Bruce Campbell was NOT a talented tackle miscast as a guard. He was tried at guard because he couldn’t play tackle. He was there 3 years and couldn’t break the starting line up as a tackle or a guard.

Good move, if this guy stays healthy and with his speed he can really help open up the field. It can make the running game better, help with the double teams on Smith and give Cam another option. Great pickup!

Well, i hate to see him go. But i guess when you have a lot of young WR potential, you have to deal 1 of them to improve another position. Anxious to hear what we got in return. Glad to see him go down there and play with Cam, he should do well in a pass first offense. Good luck to you Murphy.
