Funny how jstreet says “u guys have no football knowledge pull up reeds stats along with TP and see which one is dominate” when Polamalu and Reed play completely different safety positions with completey different assignments. Troy Polamalu The strong safety is usually the larger and stronger of the two, providing extra protection against run plays by standing closer to the line of scrimmage, usually on the strong side. Ed Reed The free safety is usually the smaller and faster of the two, and is usually the deepest player on the defense, providing help on long pass plays. Both are great at what they do but you’re comparing apples to oranges here. And if you had any football knowledge jstreet then you would have known the difference between the two positions.

I care…Ed Reed is still one of the most dominant players in the league. Regardless if you have him and Polamalu 1-2 or 2-1 father time is closing in on both of their careers. I for one appreciate watching both of them playing at a level others can only dream about. Lucky us that were fortunate to not only see them play but to see them play on opposing defenses that were top notch and dominating! The icing on the cake is that they were part of arguably the best two defenses and the best NFL rivalry over the past ten years.

Polamalu is the most overrated player in the game. He’s as much of a safety as Ricky Williams was a QB in Miami’s wildcat offense. Safeties have to actually be able to defend a deep pass.
