Ravens taking a look at Eric Steinbach today

The Ravens are taking a look at former Browns guard Eric Steinbach today, according to Aaron Wilson of the Carroll County Times.

The Ravens are keeping an eye out for guard depth after losing Ben Grubbs in free agency, and if Steinbach’s well, he may be able to help.

That’s not a given, however.

The 32-year-old was a solid player at left guard for the Browns (maybe not seven years, $49.5 million worth, but solid) but missed last season with a back problem that required surgery to remove a disc fragment. He’s started 124 games in his career, so he could add some experience.

He’s trying to prove to teams he’s healthy enough to play now, putting up a Youtube video of himself working out, including some deadlifts, pushing some guy around on a weighted sled and flipping a tractor tire.

As of this morning, it only had 103 views, so the Ravens might be the only ones that know about his condition at the moment.

One of many 30 somethings the Ravens now have…if you’re on the back 9 and want to win in this division, this is the safest bet.
