The 23rd overall pick in the 2012 draft did a little bit better than the 23rd overall pick in the 2011 draft.
According to Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press, Lions tackle Riley Reiff got no guaranteed money in the fourth year of his four-year rookie deal. However, he’ll receive $325,000 of his 2015 compensation early in the league year as a roster bonus, forcing the Lions to either keep him or dump him early enough to land somewhere else.
Last year’s 23rd overall selection, Eagles guard Danny Watkins, received in the fourth year only a $100,000 reporting bonus.
Reiff’s $325,000 roster bonus likely helped Steelers guard David DeCastro get a $325,000 roster bonus at pick No. 24. DeCastro, however, also has a $100,000 workout bonus in 2015.
