Great! My hometown team gives me yet another reason to not like them. The roster was once filled with classy people (didn’t win a Super Bowl, I get it) such as Westbrook, McNabb, Dawkins, Akers,… Now filling up fast with less that decent people (though nice to see Samuel gone)…. The talk about Shockey, this year and Burress last year, Vince Young last year,…. Makes me believe the Eagles have “sold out”. Good-bye character. Hello criminals. Though it could be a great season for them this year, I hope the egos tear apart the locker room again this year. Clearly, they couldn’t handle adversity last year.

Get him! More pass catchers means that Mike Vick can get rid of the ball quicker.

Plus, if you have a lot of guys demanding the ball he will not abuse his own body when running.

Shiancoe would fit into that offense perfectly, but I’m kind of a believer in Shockey. Like someone already said, he’s similar in play to Celek and he seemed to fill his role well in Carolina last year. Idk the Eagles cap situation or how often they run two TE sets but maybe both would be their best option. It’s not like either of them are at a stage in their career where they are going to harp on about playing time or targets.

If Shockey has something left, he’s a great addition. Was a good player with the Saints and did a fine job for the Panthers. But I think he’s only good for 4-5 games at most next year.

Jeremy Shockey had a great year last year and kept his mouth shut. I, like many other Panther fans, am happy to see him go however. He is a disruptive presence in any locker room and it was only a matter of time before he caused a problem. Panthers have something like 8 million in cap space right now, if we wanted Shockey we could have him. Guys like that are no good for the promising young players on the team. Grateful for what he did for us, but we will be better without him.

Shockey is terrible..
the best clip ever is him staring at the camera & expecting his kicker to make thegame winning field goal..

We all know about Shockey’s history. For what it’s worth, he didn’t cause a stir while in Carolina. I’m not saying that wouldn’t happen in Philly, but if you take away the behavioral issues, he’s a quiality backup to have. Best of luck.

He’s very similar the Celek with his style of play. But I would take Shiancoe because he’s more familiar with the west coast offense.

Shockey was a model citizen in Carolina last year, not to mention, a great teammate. I, like many other Panther fans, wish we had the cap space to bring him back for another season. He was very helpful to Cam last year.
