Bengals sign third-rounder Brandon Thompson

The Bengals won their version of Beat the Clock, signing their final draft pick before they report to camp at Paul Brown Stadium tomorrow.

According to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer, the Bengals signed third-rounder Brandon Thompson Wednesday afternoon.

The defensive tackle from Clemson was the 93rd overall choice.

We’re now down to 10 unsigned picks, and most of them will doubtless be finished in the next 24 hours, since every team will be in camp by the end of the weekend.

  1. Why did his take so long? They had their 1st rounders done early and those are the ones the Bengals usually take the longest on.

I will say I am HUGE fan of the slotting system now. No real hold outs and no crazy amounts of money going to guys that haven’t proven anything yet.

  2. Bengals have a nice rotation on the d-line. Peko, Geno Atkins, Devon Still, Thompson, Pat Sims. And that’s just the tackles. The defensive ends are pretty good too. Dunlap, Geathers, Michael Johnson, Derrik Harvey, and more. Can’t see how they can keep them all.
