This rule was made to help the vagrants that make up the fan-base of San Diego. Chargeless the only team in history of sports to forfeit entire season (2002) due to lack of interest. They’re worse off and more pathetic than Jacksonville. San Fee-ache-oh only team in history to be constant never-was. Norv will be turned out after week 9 when Chargers start 0-9, scoring only 3 touchdowns in that span while surrendering a staggering record 535 points in only 8 games. This will finally cement their legecy as the worst franchise in history of professional organized sports.

Last season they didn’t have any blackouts. The Chargers did. And while average game attendance in the NFL as a whole is down 4.5 percent since 2007, the Raiders’ attendance has actually gone up the past two seasons. No team stays on top forever, unless it’s a team like San Diego that never gets on top to begin with.

Can’t fault them for taking their time. If this rule came out a couple years ago it would be a no brainer to lower it to 85%. However, last season was fully sold out- not even the 2002 Super Bowl team had 8 reg season sellouts. Raider Nation is awake and in full force.

Are you a Raider’s Fan? If you were, you would know that we didn’t need to tarp it up like the Jags.

We sold out all of our games last year.

And if we didn’t sell out all our games organically, how do you know Mark didn’t buy up tickets last year to avoid a blackout?

Not sure I agree with the “advance admission of failure” statement. This is more of a “I’m an owner trying to show goodwill to my community, but don’t want to leave money on the table if we sell out each week.”

If owners cared one iota about the fans, they’d take this deal and show the games to fans and residents whose tax money paid for the stadiums teams play in. I’m not a Jags fan, but at least they did everything they could through tarps or ticket buy back to ensure there would be no blackouts and local fans could at least watch games. The Raiders did none of that.
