Bucs make more moves on a busy day, cut 2011 TD leader

MDS mentioned the Brian Price trade earlier, but that was just the start of the Buccaneers’ transactions this afternoon.

In somewhat of a surprise move, they cut wide receiver Dezmon Briscoe.

On the surface, that might not seem a shock, since he was a sixth-round pick by the Bengals in 2010. But he also led the Bucs with six touchdowns last year.

The Bucs signed Vincent Jackson in hopes he might lead the way, and with Mike Williams, Arrelious Benn, they think they have a good group of young players.

They also signed linebacker Thomas Williams, who was with the Panthers last year, and released defensive back Devin Holland.

In moves involving guys already on the roster, they activated defensive tackle Amobi Okoye and linebacker Adam Hayward from the active/PUP list, and they will be able to practice tomorrow.

they still have Mike Williams, and more importantly, Vincent Jackson. Dezmon Briscoe is more of a possession receiver and needs a better, more accurate QB to fully be effective. He’ll catch on with somebody.

Not liking the briscoe move, though I know they only have so many open spots.

The Price deal is a shocker ! He will leave a hole that needs to be filled! The Bricoe move not so much. We have a lot of young talent at that position. Training camp starts tomorrow . Can you smell it yet? New season coming up! GO BUCS

Posted this on the previous story before I saw this one:

Yet another example of the absolutely terrible job Mark Dominik is doing as GM. He is in WAY over his head, just like Raheem was, and this team won’t improve until he is gone.

As far as Schiano goes, he still thinks he is coaching in college the way he keeps running guys out of town. He needs to realize that the NFL operates differently very soon, and that his mediocre record at Rutgers doesn’t carry much weight. He has to earn respect just like anyone else.

First of all guys Brian Price is going through some serious personal issues with the death of his fourth sibling. There is no telling what kind of player you are gonna get when you deal with that. As for Dezmon Briscoe he is a complete dbag. He doesn’t show up to a single offseason OTA with a new coach with a new offense to install. Again I said “Dezmon Briscoe” not Megatron, “Dezmon Briscoe”

V-Jax, Mike Williams, Arrelious Benn, Preston Parker, and Sammie Stroughter are all ahead on the depth chart. Cutting your #6 WR is not that big of a deal.

Preston Parker will be the #3 WR this year… for the season I predict he will be #2 possibly #1 in TD in TD repts.

    Brisoce was overrated.

The Vikes should jump on him. They need a big receiver like him.

… Did you just say the bucs wr corps was “loaded”… I’ve heard of blind homerism but man, come on… They have maybe 2 starting caliber wr on that team.

Looks like Schiano wants to make sure everyone knows who’s boss…..
