Brian Price is heading to Chicago.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced that they traded Price, a defensive tackle who started 14 games in Tampa Bay last season, to the Bears for an undisclosed 2013 draft pick.

Price has had a turbulent offseason. His sister died in a car accident in May, and he and his wife (a hurdler who fell just short of qualifying for the Olympics) decided to adopt her children. He was later absent from offseason work in Tampa Bay after a fight with rookie safety Mark Barron.

A 2010 second-round draft pick, Price saw only limited action while dealing with hamstring problems as a rookie but came on strong last year. He’ll have to pass a physical before this trade is official, and if his hamstrings are continuing to bother him that could be a question, but assuming he can go he’ll have a good chance to start in the Bears’ defense.
