APAfter a strong rookie season last year, 49ers outside linebacker Aldon Smith has had a rough offseason: He was arrested for drunk driving in January and suffered minor stab wounds when a fight broke out at a party at his house in June. In his first comments since then, Smith says he learned that he needs to stop finding himself in the wrong place at the wrong time.
“Letting everyone down was probably the saddest part. I’m back to 100 percent and I’m ready to go,” Smith said. “After the incidents that happened and the expectations that were set for me, I feel like I let the fans and everybody down.”
Smith said he wasn’t badly injured in the stabbing, but he did need staples to close his wounds.
“I’m good. I’m alright. I’m all healed up and ready to go,” Smith said.
The 49ers need Smith, who had 14 sacks as a rookie, to be ready to go on the field. And to stop letting everybody down off the field.

First one’s free!!! Don’t do it again!!
Just gotta learn / experiment when your young. Everyone messes up!
You didn’t let me down, Aldon. I already didn’t care about you.
Oh yeah…we’ve never heard the canned apology before.
Keep your stuff straight or they will can you!
these guy is a beast 49ers need him
“What does not kill you makes you stupider”.
@dstep24 – in other news, Lynch pleads not Guilty after blowing twice the amount of legal alcohol and almost hitting 2 parked cars . go troll somewhere else.
he’s just hurting his chances of cashing in on that second contract with these off-field issues.
Cut me Mick…
You let yourself down. Keep this up and your new home will be a jail cell.
This guy seems like a real winner. One year in the league, a DUI and a stabbing. Glad he’s not on my team.
@db3300…. You cared enough to click on the article. Numbskull.

Then why are you reading the story??
Not defending Lynch. In fact he’s proof of my earlier point that a canned apology means nothing, since he’s now given three in his career and continues to act dumb.
Seems like the one who should feel like he let everyone down is Kyle Williams.
Coach has his own drinking and driving issues. Not setting a good example. Now you have 5 number 1 receivers. This is obvious sign of alcoholism, delusions. I hope he gets better and wish him luck with that.
