APBuccaneers wide receiver Arrelious Benn limped off the practice field at training camp today, and he won’t be back on the field for about a month.
A league source tells PFT that Benn suffered a sprained MCL and is expected to miss four weeks.
The Buccaneers’ final preseason game takes place on August 29, so if he does miss four weeks he could return for the end of the preseason, although it’s possible that the Buccaneers will show caution and hold him out of live action until the start of the regular season.
A 2010 second-round draft pick out of Illinois, Benn started 14 games for the Buccaneers last season and caught 30 passes for 441 yards and three touchdowns. The arrival of Vincent Jackson in free agency this offseason has likely bumped Benn out of the starting lineup and into the No. 3 receiver spot, and this injury won’t do anything to help Benn compete for playing time in the Bucs’ offense.

Looks like they may have cut Briscoe a day too soon.
TO is waiting by his phone…
While it’s cool that he can be back before the real action starts, we need every WR possible.
Definitely needed to cut Briscoe no matter what. Guy has some off the field drama that is ridiculous (not criminal, just reality TV-esque). Besides that WR is actually the one position the Bucs have many capable guys. Tiquan Underwood has apparently been looking very strong, Sammie Stroughter now has his opening to get back in the rotation, and Ed Gant definitely intrigues me. Benn though could be following Briscoe out the door if he can’t stay healthy.

Who?
Wow at first I thought the title of this article was an adjective describing Ben Roethlisberger, I had no idea it was someones name.
And tampa bays 2nd rd draft pic goes the steelers for wallce read it hear first
Wallace for a second rounder would be awesome. Put him and VJax on the outside with Williams in the slot could potentially potent as long as Dominiks most inportant draft pick Freeman plays like its 2010.
