Joe Vitt calls Drew Brees “outstanding” at first practice

Missing minicamp and Organized Team Activities wasn’t a problem for Drew Brees.

Saints coach Joe Vitt said after watching Brees at the first training camp practice that he looks as good as ever after lengthy contract negotiations that kept him away from the team.

“Outstanding,” Vitt said of Brees. “I don’t think anybody’s eyes lied to them. You guys were here and saw the practice. Excellent tempo, excellent ball location, in and out of the huddle, up and down, on and off. Outstanding.”

The Saints moved practice indoors because of rain in New Orleans, so fans weren’t able to see Brees with their own eyes. But Saints fans will like Vitt’s description. Brees is ready to go.

In other news from around the camps, Megatron is good at catching the ball & Jared Allen says he quite likes hitting QBs

What is he going to say, “he was terrible today?”

I get a feeling he’s crazy motivated this year after all the Saints stuff this offseason just like Brady was in 07. Bad news for the rest of the league.

Vince Young looked great with shorts and a tee shirt on too.

Ok, I exagerate. He looked like a capable NFL player…and we all know about him.

Shocking. I would have thought that he’d go from being one of the most prolific QBs in the NFL to looking like total garbage overnight.
