The 4-3 CAN have a NT, depending on the alignment.

As for Boller, he obviously couldn't live with being a Charger.

I can't blame him.

One fun stat for Boller: at four different times in his career he went head to head with Super Bowl winning, pro bowl QBs and statistically out played them.

"the Raiders might even be Superbowl champs right now."

There is no fan base as diluted as the Oakland Raiders.

I am shocked at the people defending this clown, he was one of the worst QB's taken in the first round of all time. Sorry Kyle Boller, I am sure you are a nice guy, but I would take Jason Street post spinal injury as my QB over you.....congrats for sticking around as long as you did without one discernible talent. In the words of Heddo from Rookie of the Year, See Ya!

Boller was never a very good football player. He didn't have the mental toughness to make it in the NFL but he sure didn't have a problem putting his body on the line. I still remember an awesome block he threw down field on a McGahee TD run vs the Bills in 2007. That linebacker had to feel like such a chump for being taken out by Boller.

The name Kyle Boller is the epitome of the Ravens struggles at QB. When this guy left Baltimore he owned every career Ravens passing record. Records it took Joe Flacco just 4 years to demolish. Ravens fans need to appreciate what we have because we could still have that.

Jul 28, 2012 10:26 PM
I don’t know about that, I honestly think I would choose Jamarcus over Boller, Boller single handily ruined the Raiders last year, If Campbell never gets injured Raiders win the WEST by 3 games even get a playoff game, heck the Raiders might even be Superbowl champs right now..
Oh by the way Jamarcus Russell beat the steelers

The Raiders season was over when McFadden went down. Campbell was just a coincidence.

I agree with you about Wilfork not being the best NT in the game, but Ngata is not a NT,he's a 3-technique tackle or a 5-technique DE in most packages. Terrence Cody is actually the Ravens' NT. Ngata is probably good enough to be a straight 0-technique NT,but his versatility and the ability to move him around the defensive front to get the best matchup is what makes him so great.

For those that don’t know, Boller was taken with the Patriots 1st rounder in 2003, that they eventually flipped for Vince Wilfork in 2004. Wilfork has played in 3 Super Bowls, with a ring, and is widely regarded as the best nose tackle on the league. I’ll take it.

==================================

Vince Wilfork the best nose tackle in the NFL? That's laughable. Keep in mind the 4-3 actually DOES have a nose tackle, a fact a lot of people are ignorant of. I'd personally take Haloti Ngata (usually a 3-4 end but get's plenty of snaps at NT), Suh (minus the 'roid rage), and Casey Hampton over Wilfork.

Wilfork hasn't made the Patriots defense any better over the last couple of years, those guys have.

Boller went 20-27 in 47 career starts? What was his ERA?
Attaching win/loss records onto quarterbacks is the dumbest thing ever dreamed up. A quarterback is no more responsible for a team victory (or loss) than a linebacker.
Unless a QB plays offense, defense and special teams, his only responsibilies are to protect the football and direct his offense into the end zone as often as possible.
Football is the ultimate team sport.

I don't know about that, I honestly think I would choose Jamarcus over Boller, Boller single handily ruined the Raiders last year, If Campbell never gets injured Raiders win the WEST by 3 games even get a playoff game, heck the Raiders might even be Superbowl champs right now..
Oh by the way Jamarcus Russell beat the steelers
