APGiants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks admits it, he’s feeling a little “antsy.”
He’s hoping he doesn’t have long to wait.
The fourth-year wideout is still on the side with his broken foot which he suffered during OTAs in the spring, but told Mike Garafalo of the Newark Star-Ledger he’s hoping he can be back on the field in mid-August.
“You could say antsy,” he said. “I’m ready to get back at it. I feel like I need to be out there with the guys but following the instructions of the team doctors and the team trainers right now.”
Nicks said he’s started running recently, and will begin cutting on his foot in a few days. With no setbacks, he’s on pace to be back in a few weeks.
“Sticking to the script, like they said,” Nicks said. “I definitely want to be out there but go to do the right thing and be smart about it and I don’t want to prolong this injury.”
Again, this is as close to drama as the Giants have to worry about at the moment, which should stand as a relief.
