A bum? That is a completely inaccurate description, whether or not you like him. He got injured and replaced after TWO QUARTERS in Philly behind the worst OL in team history. Vick was playing out of his mind, and Kolb lost his job. Last year, he had no offseason after being traded and a bad team to boot. He also happened to get injured.

The fact is that we don’t know what Kolb will be yet. We won’t know until he has a full season, and full offseason to prep.

Why do you have to lie for Kolb? It was Kolb who threw for 2 ints and not Skelton. Opinions are OK, but keep your lies for the police and your priest. There is no lying in football. Anyway, we will all find out soon if Kolb’s West Coast Offense skills will translate into mastery of the Card’s complex offensive system. If not, Kolb will simply become a highly paid backup who will then get to live out his life as a wealthy family man without his brain in noodles as he shouldn’t get anymore concussions on the bench.

I get so tired of hearing how Kolb never had an offseason to get ready to play. Well, neither did Cam Newton or Andy Dalton, but as I recall, they did a bit better than the veteran Kolb.
The Cardinals fans are VERY TIRED of the quarterback issues and the Whisenhunt/Kolb love fest. It will not take very much poor play on Kolb’s behalf to get the fans SOLIDLY against both Whiz and Kolb.
Some QB had better step up and get the job done, or QB’s and coaches will be flying out the door — and in the middle of the season.

Getting Kolb enabled the Cards to sign Fitz to a long term deal. Without Kolb Fitz would not sign an extension and then it was very possible the Cards would lose him the following off-season. That would be devestating on many levels.

The only part that really hurt was the 2nd round pick. Losing DRC was no big deal; they guy is a headcase that refused to tackle. Plus we have a pretty deep cornerback corps, so no big loss.

Bottom line: this deal kept Fitz. I’d do it again any day.

He’s never had a chance to be starting QB for a season with any real preparation. I also find the comments in the article and otherwise on him being injury prone to be off base. The concussion vs. GB in 2010 was brutal—the result of a HORRENDOUS O-line at the time. Then he got injured last year. It happens, but it doesn’t make him any more prone to injury than anyone else. No one should question his toughness or desire. The guy hunts wild boar for Pete’s sake. Give him the year…then we’ll see if he can develop into the franchise player the Eagles saw when they drafted him.
