It was not a good day to be coming off an ACL tear.

After Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas injured his for a third time, Redskins linebacker Jonathan Goff found out he tore his ACL for the second straight year.

Goff missed all of last season with a torn ACL, but had started all 16 games for the Giants in 2010 before signing with the Redskins this offseason.

Redskins coach Mike Shanaham also said guard Kory Lichtensteiger had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, via the Washington Post.

Lichtensteiger tore his right ACL and MCL last year, but Shanahan said this surgery was more to clean out “some particles.”

He was slated to start at left guard, making him the second Redskins starting lineman to miss time. Right tackle Jammal Brown is still out after aggravating a hip injury.

Shanahan said the goal was to have Lichtensteiger back by the regular season opener.

I really thought that we paid the injury Karma god last year with all the o-line injuries. Looks like it’s starting up again. Hopefully is doesn’t prove to be a big deal.

    Good Lord
I stopped reading the post out of fear of blowing out an acl

These guys are going to get slaughtered. Year one with a rookie QB is always bad, but they aren’t getting any breaks either…

He was a beast against the run with the Giants.

Speedy recovery man….hate the skins, but nobody wants to see injuries.

Well 4 years has gone by awful quick. It’s that time again! Time for the Ravens to show they are the dominant force in the Balt Wash area. Dead skins!

They will have no success without addressing the offensive line. Can’t believe the fans in dc let Shanahan off the hook with the Kirk Cousins pick instead of off line.

I would have a scout at every teams facility to solely watch the offensive line. When they make the last two cut-downs, we sign them. If not, this will again be a major, major achille’s heel all year.

Hope he didn’t tear it when RGIII tackled him out of bounds

With Goff unfortunately out again (he really was a beast for the boys in blue, this coming from a die hard Eagle fan, but my love is for the JRC East), the ‘Skins need to bring in Brian Banks. Give him a legitimate shot to make his well deserved dream a reality.

Josh LeRibeus will fill in at LG and eventually take over that spot if Lichtensteiger can’t play. Goff, well, that may be over before it ever got started…i guess more playing time for the kid they just drafted from Texas is upcoming.

michael barrow and brandon noble mustve given him a call and told him how to juice the team by getting a contract and never playing a down. interdivisional signings have never worked out for the skins…jerimiah trotter, deon sanders, tachard choice… good luck to his recovery though.

Do we even need to have a medical staff ?? Same stuff that happened last year .. We need our starting line healthy or griffin is going to be running for his life
