OK, I know he has the college edjamacation, And I am just some yahoo but if he signs now he makes $50m the next 5 years or $10m per year, but no thats not good enough so lets play this year for 3.5m then sign for 11.5m next year (barring injury). So the math on that works out to be (11.5 x 5= 57.5m)+3.5m for this year = 61m divided by 6 years total= $10.17m per year, now is it really worth the risk to hold out for this when you have already had knee problems and could lose out before you get the next contract?

Clady has one thing to worry about, injury.

Otherwise, the Broncos will either give him a similar/same offer even if he has an off year. Or they increase their offer. Either way, you don’t invest what they have in Manning and not protect him. LTs are not easy to find and Clady is a good young LT. He is not elite, but he wants to be paid like he is. What NFL player is not looking to get paid as much as possible however.

I have a feeling he was banking on getting more money simply because he will be blocking for Peyton Manning. Well, looks like John Elway isn’t buying that line of BS. Clady should have taken that guaranteed money. Dumb move Ryan. Dumb move.

Ridiculous. Clady is overvaluing himself– at the level he’s played the last two years, that contract was MORE than sufficient. His first two years, IMO he was arguably the best O-tackle in the entire league. Dude looked close to unbeatable in pass pro, and was a very effective zone blocker with elite mobility.

Post-injury Clady simply hasn’t been the same player. He doesn’t have the same kick-step to shut off the edge against speed, and he gets caught holding a ton because of it. If he doesn’t return to pre-injury form this year, the team will need to move on– they can find somebody to perform the way he has recently for significantly less. At best, maybe they franchise him for a year or two, to at least keep a veteran on Manning’s blind side while they develop a draft pick.

Why dont you call Mike Wallace and ask him about overvaluing your ability?

Take $28 m guaranteed today…or play a vicious season of football and hope to get what …$28 million guaranteed?

Some of these guys are fools, I get if a team is lowballing you, but this deal is more than fair market value.

Hope your ACLs hold up dude, seems foolish to risk $25 million on it.

When was the last time you saw Duane Brown get beat against the run or the pass? Exactly. #76 is the best LT in the NFL. Nobody has really noticed it or talked about it because he didn’t have a zero sack season as a rookie (Clady) or technical hype coming out of college (Thomas).

But his film is better than both these guys.

he should have took the money and ran. This guys play has been falling off. he probably won’t even sniff that amount of money next year when manning goes down because of one of his blown assignments. Tambi hali gonna go off on this kid like always.
