Colts don’t throw games. Their record is their record, period. If they lose it’s not from lack of trying its from being outplayed. The Colts got Andrew Luck from a terrible season of not being prepared for life without Manning. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool. Those guys poured their heart and soul into every practice and every game. The organization was just making a lot of bad personnel decisions on the fly in the wake of the news of no Manning for the season. I think if they had rolled with Painter earlier on in the season and not picked up old grey haired Collins, they would have realized sooner that Painter was a huge bust and given Orlovsky his chance sooner and they might have had a chance of winning another game or two at least. They didn’t make the right choices at QB early enough in the season so they stunk it up and ended up with Luck with the #1 overall pick. Anyone who was involved in making those bad decisions is gone now. The new staff will be making better choices with better players. I agree that they will probably be picking somewhere in the top 10 – 15 picks but the focus this year needs to be on some great young defensive picks earlier on in the draft To replace aging vets and short term fixes as offensive players to surround Luck seemed to be the way the cards fell this year.
==================================
SO happy somebody else said this. As a Colts fan, it was truly offending me and getting old fast to hear about how the Colts "tanked the season". No, it's not like Peyton got traded or released or even retired BEFORE the season. We were disgustingly unprepared for Manning being out. It makes me wonder at times if he cringed at our QB play knowing he was partly responsible (not sharing reps)

Key word probably. No one knows how good or bad the colts will be this year. They don't need another #1 pick. Is someone better than Andrew Luck coming out next year? According to the talking heads they'll have a top ten pick anyway. That will be another quality player to rebuild with. Throwing games for any reason.... Come on sixpack! That goes against everything these guys have been taught since they started playing/coaching football.

If the injury bug keeps striking it might be worthwhile for the Colts to throw enough games to get another #1 pick.

With a team that new they're probably destined to be just as bad as Manning's first season anyways. Why not purposely lose a few games more again?

I really liked Edds. I think he can be a decent LB but he needs to stay healthy. He got hurt in his rookie camp with the Dolphins and then went to the Pats last year. It's a shame that he is hurt again.
