Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is feeling confident enough about his team that he’s already predicting victory over the defending Super Bowl champions.

Y’all should come to Cowboys Stadium and watch us beat the Giants’ asses,” Jones said at a fan event at the Cowboys’ training camp in Oxnard, California.

Before the Giants go to Cowboys Stadium, the Cowboys will have to head to New Jersey and visit the Giants to start the season on September 5. That’s the game the Cowboys have to be thinking about now, and it’s a game in which the Giants are favored to kick the Cowboys’ asses. The Giants beat the Cowboys twice last season, and the Giants have a 7-2 record against the Cowboys going back to the playoffs after the 2007 season, when they got a postseason victory at Cowboys Stadium on the way to the Super Bowl.

So the Cowboys have an uphill battle if they’re going to prove their owner right. Kicking the Giants’ asses is something the Cowboys haven’t done often enough recently.
