Jerry Jones “too pissed” to speak to Dez Bryant

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has no problem making bold statements about beating the Giants or wishing for a return to glory hole days, but there’s one place where he’ll hold his tongue.

Jones said during a radio interview Tuesday that he hasn’t spoken with wide receiver Dez Bryant since Bryant was hit with a Class A misdemeanor family violence charge this month. Jones was asked why a micromanager like himself hasn’t spoken to the player and his answer was short and to the point.

“Because I’m too pissed to talk to him,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas.

Jones isn’t too pissed to see how Bryant could help his football team on the field, so you can forget about any punitive measures on that front. This isn’t the first time that Jones has had to deal with a player getting into trouble off the field since he’s owned the Cowboys and his experiences with Michael Irvin likely make him doubly aware that you can win with volatile talents at wide receiver.

That talent needs to stay on the field, though, and Bryant had a hard enough time doing that last year without facing punitive measures for off-field transgressions. Jones has raved about the shape Bryant is in and said he thinks improved conditioning will help Bryant avoid the injuries that bothered him last season so it’s not hard to understand why he’s pissed about the developments of Bryant’s offseason.

For more with Jones, be sure to check out Florio hosting the Dan Patrick Show on Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. ET. Jones will be joining the show as a guest to talk about Bryant and everything else Cowboys.

No biggie. Give it 2 weeks and Jerrah will return to having his man crush and talking up how Bryant should be returning punts

No doubt he’s pissed. Scratching the check to make Dez’s mama go away couldn’t have been cheap.

I’m sure the silent treatment from Jerry is really bothering Dez.

We know Dez has pictures of Jerry with his mother

He’s also pissed that Dez was on the other side of the glory hole that he was working

This is going to be a disaster year for Dallas. The Cowboys are not good with distractions and when you look at the seasons 2008 and 2010-2012 that has always been some form of a distraction on the team, but 2009 it was okay because they got rid of Terrell Owens, Tank Johnson, and Adam Jones and that calmed everything down.

Those three aforementioned players were being nailed by the media in Dallas in 2008 and when the papers kept screaming “get rid of them” the Cowboys did so and they had less on their minds.

Jason Garrett cannot leave the football team and Jerry Jones cannot be a general manager. He needs to change the front office and get a new head coach. Those two positions need to have people who come from either Pittsburgh or Green Bay because in 2010 those two teams had their own distractions, but they both went to the Super Bowl.

Jerry Jones is the most overrated owner in the NFL. Just because you do interesting interviews, are open to the media, and make statements that are worthy of noting it doesn’t mean that you can run a football team. This team needs to start over from the top and they need more changes than they think.

I guess Dez is lucky that Romo ” has his back,” whatever in the bleep that means.

Queue the theme song to Dallas. The annual drama is beginning.

What would the owner of a regular team say if the GM refused to speak to one of the players? This isone of the many reasons why the Cowboys are no longer threats to advance deep into the playoffs. They all begin and end with Jerry.

“No biggie. Give it 2 weeks and Jerrah will return to having his man crush and talking up how Bryant should be returning punts”

If you knew anything you would know that Dez has already been designated as the punt returner on special teams.

I love how all the blame on the cowboys failures has been on the offense and the distractions it faces when in reality the defense has been so bad the last few years. I think like 24th last year, last the year before that..

Jerry will wait until he sobers up before speaking with Dez.

Dez will be giving Jerrah those glory hole days he’s been missing so much.

As long as Jerry ‘macho man’ Jones is in the headlines, Jerry ‘macho man’ Jones is one happy dude.

I wish Jerry Jones was pissed at the world so I wouldn’t have to hear him ever again!

Beating the Giants in what decade Jerry

The NFL has served up the Cowboys for opening day feast

The best part will be watching Jerrys face as the banner is raised over Giant Stadium

    FYI – I am a Pats’ fan.

Say what you will about my team, but you have to admit that Mr. Kraft has it down pat. (pun intended)

    It goes like this:

    1) Hire the right guy (Belichik)
    2) Sign the checks
    3) Get the hell out of the way and let him do his job.

Jerrah just doesn’t get it. We rustics here in Maine have a phrase that describes him pretty well: “He not only don’t KNOW nothin’ – he doesn’t even SUSPECT nothin’!”

Glory hole days. Absolutely priceless! JJ, you’ve flapped your gums for years and we’re still learning about ya… good times.
