Reeling Jaguars suffer another blow

We broke down the rough start to Jaguars training camp on Monday, and things got worse on the practice field Tuesday. Starting left guard Will Rackley suffered a right ankle injury and did not return to the workout.

Per Tania Ganguli of the Florida Times Union, Rackley was spotted after practice walking around on crutches and putting no weight on the injured ankle.

Though the extent of the injury has not yet been disclosed, a high ankle sprain would threaten Rackley’s Week One availability.

The Jaguars were hoping for a big second-year leap from Rackley, whom G.M. Gene Smith made the 76th overall pick in the 2011 draft. Jason Spitz, who hasn’t made a start since the 2009 season, is Rackley’s top backup at left guard.

Looks like the Saints have a challenger for worst offseason

Shoot, the Titans will probably STILL lose to them.

Maybe, but then they could very easily finish up 1-15… And why do you even care? Shouldn’t you be on the steelers page talking about how great big ben is going to be?

Man you are want MJD to play for 30 mil over his entire career and he’s been one of the top backs for the last 5 years? Forgetaboutit!

Yeah he signed a new contract and you would have too. lol They had him locked into a LATE second round rookie contract for peanuts and a cup of water. lol While he was taking more carries than anyone and producing like a top back!

KIR, you have a really bad memory. Drew signed his new contract having proved nothing. Up until that point he was a part-time player who had shown potential, but was far from a lock to be a full-time player. The Jaguars took a huge risk giving him a big contract.

Somehow I have the feeling the Jags wouldn’t mind being in the Saints position right now. At least they have one of the best if not the best offenses in the entire league.

For a reeling team, they have looked pretty damn good lately. Certainly compared to years past. I know this because I have actually left my computer and gone to the open practices to see what is taking place with my own eyes. I would recommend you do the same, but that would be unheard of. As far as he Jags go, PFT is the equivalent of Perez Hilton. Fat, lazy and snarky.

My sincerest hope is that you can objectively report on this team with a mouthful of crow once the regular season gets underway. This team is far better than you have given them credit for. You’ll see.

Well, they were already on their way to 0-16, so I can’t see how this can hurt them.

That’s why you don’t take a punter in the third round.

Took me a while to realize Thankheaven was a Vikings fan but his intense infatuation with the Packers downfall gave him away eventually.

Never mind him. He thinks you’re a big Cortez Allen fan.
