I don’t believe in Madden Curse or any curse for that matter I think it is silly but it’s fun reading about Madden Curse. Megatron is going to have another great season you can only contain Megatron. All Hail Megatron Go Lions.

You need an amazing season to get on the cover. It’s statistically probable you’re going to regress. Even if you play fine people are going to look for any reason they can to justify the existence of a curse because they’re 14 years old and still believe in those kind of things.

Except the curse usually isn’t about statistical regression. It’s about the dude getting injured and missing most of the following year.

I believe the curse exists but hope he proves it wrong. Stafford made me fantasy champion thanks to the amazing megatron. Goin with stafford aging this year so need megatron to stay healthy and not succumb to the curse

I don’t believe in it either. I believe that to be on the Madden cover, you need a career year. The next year, you will likely regress. You put additional pressure on yourself by being on the Madden cover (you become a target too, because players in the league love Madden).

Most of the people who have been on it were past their prime, already injury prone, or shouldn’t have been on it anyways.

Calvin Johnson will be fine as long as Matthew Stafford can stay healthy…

Athletes get on the Madden game cover after having had great years, frequently their best year ever. Is it such a magical thing if they regress back towards the average of their previous years?
Its called regression to the mean. Tall parents have tall kids but not so tall as the parents, usually, and on average.

Now. As for the Lions and Megatron, he’s just coming into his prime as is Stafford. They are on their way up, but what if Megatron has lower numbers this year but they get to the superbowl because they have more of a running game, and Fareley comes through making the protecting of quarterbacks impossible for other teams.

Would it matter one wit if Megatron regerssed to the mean?

Eddie George- Knicked up all year & never was the same. He then went on to retire shortly after.

Mike Vick- Horrible season, got his coach fired after I believe leading Atlanta to the playoffs the year before, shortly after arrested for dog fighting ring.

Troy Polomolu- Banged up & injured through out the year. Pitt didn’t even make the playoffs the year after winning the superbowl.

Larry Fitzgerald- Broke his collarbone or dislocated his shoulder late in the season vs the 9ERS.

Daunte Culpepper- Blew his knee out & his career was Never the same.

Drew Brees- Year after being on the cover “Bounty Gate”

Peyton Hillis- Injured for majority of year & was basically a no show all season long.

Curse or coincidence?? Not hating…….. Im just saying!!

What’s even worse than the Madden curse is the football curse. Everyone who plays profootball at some point in their career will suffer an injury, minor or severe.
