Fox didn’t just pack it in early, he packed it in in the 09-10 offseason when he didn’t get a contract extension. His goal for 2010 was ro finish no worse than 7-9 (his worst record in any season here) and get the hell out of dodge. He is also still stuck in 1965, and thinks the forward pass should only be used in dire emergency. He loves defense so much I’m surprised we never saw a 2nd down punt so the D could get on the field faster.

The other thing working against Moore was that the 2010 Panthers offensive line was the worst offensive line in the history of the sport of football, on any level, in any era. Moore and Clausen never had more than 0.05 seconds to throw the ball before getting destroyed by an opposing DE.

Moore is by no means an All-Pro. But he is decent. Miami would be wise to keep him on the roster. He and Gerrard can be good mentors to Tannehill.

Actually…numbers sometimes DO lie. While Moore’s numbers may look decent on paper, the opposing secondary from every opponent knows he doesn’t have the arm to complete the deeper patterns. He also takes sacks in lieu of getting rid of the ball IMHO.

While you may have seen the rare occasion when a Dolphin receiver catches a 20+ yard pattern up a sideline, you will NEVER see a ball caught over the middle. It just gets there too late.

But…while his QBR in the first three quarters averaged in the high 80s and into the 90s, it was in the low 60s in the 4th quarter. He did not close well.

But…his downfield arm, while more accurate than Henne’s, was still pedestrian at best.

But…his decision was consistently inconsistent. While an improvement over Henne, he was far from elite.

If healthy, Garrard seems an obvious improvement. The big problem, to me, is that unlikelihood that he can remain healthy all season if he does win the job.

I think Miami should eat the extra 2 million. 4-5 million combined to have QB depth seems cheap compared to having your season go down the toilet if the guy you keep between the two goes down too early in the season for a rookie to reasonably step in…

The only thing that matters at this point of the season is that the Jets hired Tony Sparano to be their Offensive Coordinator. Holy crap that can’t be true is it? Where’s Ashton Kutcher because that has to be a Punk right?

If through some devastating drop in IQ, Moore becomes unemployed, then somebody is gonna get the bargain of the year, because the only thing not adding at least 3 Ws was drops and the 30th ranked O line, Moore was playing great….
