Saints march straight down the field

Drew Brees AP

In 10 plays, the New Orleans Saints marched 77 yards to paydirt in Canton.

Drew Brees completed four of five passes for 41 yards, 21 on which went to running back Pierre Thomas.  The starting tailback added 12 yards on one carry.

But it was Mark Ingram who finished the job, with a one-yard plunge for six points.

The most relevant development is that Cardinals linebacker Paris Lenon limped off the field after Ingram’s touchdown with an apparent lower leg injury.

If you missed Brees on the first drive, you probably won’t see him again tonight.

Clearly the Saints were in disarray without their head coach. Until the kick off, at least.
