When Colts quarterback Andrew Luck makes his NFL debut on Sunday in a preseason home game against the Rams, it won’t be the typical Week One, one-drive cameo.

Instead, Luck could see several drives.

“We’d like to get in 20 plays, maybe 25,” offensive coordinator Bruce Arians said Monday, in comments distributed by the team.

Regardless, the team and Luck are ready to face someone else.

“He needs to play against someone else other than himself and see different coverages and different fronts,” Arians said of Luck. “We’re looking forward to it.”

So is everyone else. After months of anticipation, Luck’s NFL career finally will begin on Sunday night.
