OK Cam, I’ll explain the difference between LA gold diggers and NYC gold diggers. LA hoes need a red or gold Ferrari, dude needs lots of bling and Malibu condo. He must understand LA valley bimbo babble talk. NYC gold diggers need a black Mercedes AMG 600 and lots of stock options and some IPOs, Trump tower condo and tickets to all the New York Broadway plays. The Real Housewives of Charlotte? That is hilarious. Let me fill in the storylines for those that aren’t here….

The Real Housewives of Charlotte would feature the gold-digging Mrs. Newton in the lead role (a la Shaunie O’Neal of Basketball Wives), along with a gaggle of pretentious, self-absorbed soccer moms who get out of pilates 5 minutes late and drive their minivans 90 mph through school zones to pick up Hunter, Carson, Reilly and McKenzie from practice. Other than Mrs. Newton, the wives are all married to investment bankers who used to make $4 million a year until the 2008 financial meltdown, and the wives all think their husbands are bums because they’re only making $90k a year now. Tired of the contstant nagging, some of the husbands are sending signals that they are cheating, and each wife thinks her husband might be cheating with one of the other Real Housewives, setting up the weekly cat-fights.

You’ll see drama unfold during girls night out at the EpiCentre entertainment complex across the road from the Bobcats arena, not only among themselves, but with other gold-diggers seen hanging on the arms of Bobcats players who think the Real Housewives are eying their Bobcat men.

Come to think of it, I can’t believe this isn’t on Bravo already…

There are women who aren’t going to have a baby unless they’re married no matter who you are. Make sure they have a degree, career and come from a good family. It won’t eliminate the ones who are there because of your celebrity but greatly lowers your odds of being a baby daddy.

As long as she’s not going to drop a baby on you….. at 23 who cares. She’s got what you want and you’ve got what she needs. Enjoy.

If I was in his shoes I would be thinking the same thing. I cant hate on him for having his guard up because if its not he’ll get burned. When the spotlight is on you everybody wants a piece. More athletes should have Newton’s mindset.

I’ll have to admit he had “diva” written all over him to me before he was drafted but the kid is smart and he seems pretty grounded. He sounds like he has good character.

He’s already got a leg up on Cromartie and Travis Henry apparently too. He’s probably not banging every hood rat that gives him some attention and believing them when they say they are on the pill!

The statements from him are very accurate from what I hear. Think of this situation out of every 100 women you see 99 of them want you or you would not be seeing them. Out of that 99 today 1 of them has or may be able to develop true feelings and be true to you it is not guaranteed. I think I would look at Michael Vick really. Look at what his female counterpart stood by him through. I would say on the women Cam Newton sees someone like that would be 1 in a million. DO not forget they may be different players physically as well as in style of play, but when Vick was picked he was in the exact same place as Cam, QB best in the nation (1st round pick) gonna lead a team to victory. That is very cool I am sure, but this pressure is on a 23 year old young man, and has been on him now for what 3-4 years as his prestige has increased. Try and put yourself in that place starting at Auburn when he was 19-20 and think about being in position where everyone you meet with but family wants something from you and in Cam’s case even some of the family is not ruled out. Think about what that would feel like on a day to day basis, think about a time when someone used you and what you felt, now magnify it by 1000 and you MAY get a small glimpse of that picture! I am not saying I feel sorry for him or any great athlete I am just saying look at the reality of what that must feel like there people just like you underneath as well.

It’s good that he’s aware. Too many young millionaire athletes end up making pretty expensive mistakes, getting married too young and/or getting a girl knocked up where in 5 years you find you’re losing half of your net worth and paying child support in the thousands per month.

I would recommend using a friend’s photo (with permission, of course) and getting a profile up at some dating sites. Find a girl several states away where you can develop a long-term relationship based on e-mail and phone correspondence and make sure she likes and loves you for you, and not for your name.

Sure it’ll be a shock when she finds out who you really are, but the right girl will understand. Otherwise, you really can’t know for sure who’s real and who’s fake.

Reminds me of an old Michael J Fox movie I think called “For Love or Money” where the old rich guy faked going broke so he could weed out the family members who “liked” him for the potential inheritance. Then it turned out he was just staging the whole thing and still had all his riches.

It will be near impossible Cam. Your money attracts women like a woman’s ass attracts you. It is an attribute they are attracted to. From the brokest of women to the richest, they will want you to have money because they don’t or because they do.

IMHO, he isn’t old enough to worry about finding a mate. Get this cash, play some ball, bang some chicks and get married when you’re irrelevant. It should be a little easier then. You can always go overseas where the NFL is less known.

The wise thing for any professional athlete is to make a deposit at a reputable sperm bank and get a vasectomy. They can choose to have children at any time after that point and will not only avoid a Cromartie Situation but they can enjoy all the side benefits that come with the job.

The kid has a heart for God, which naturally makes him a target of ridicule and/or disdain. Poke fun at him all you want, but his problem (like most young professional athletes) is very real; finding someone his age he can trust.

Worrying about his “brand” is not a bad thing. He has a short window to develop and capitalize on his ability and he shouldn’t let anything undermine it. In fact, “finding the right woman who unconditionally loves Cam Newton” will only serve to enhance the “brand” he aims to create.

The two people that it is nearly impossible to mate-shop for are rich people and gorgeous women because so many people want them for the wrong reasons and often they never know until too late. I don’t envy them one bit. There is something to be said about knowing that a person is there for you, cares about you, if you were to lose everything be there for you, if you break your leg and can no longer work will be there for you. So often, even in my $45k life in the Ohio there are people who are there only until the wind starts blowing hard, then you are on your own. I cannot imagine what he and other athletes must go through…or maybe I just don’t want to.
