Bills coach Chan Gailey didn’t think his players were going hard at practice: “This was the first time in quite a while we have not been in pads, and I thought guys thought it was a glorified walkthrough. We’ve got to make sure we learn how to practice without pads on. So we’ve got to up the tempo with that.”

Said Dolphins OT Jake Long of being on Hard Knocks, “The first couple of days was crazy. They come in and there’s cameras everywhere. There are microphones everywhere. It’s a little hard to get use to at first, but honestly just a week in I think everybody is used to it. You don’t even notice the cameras anymore.”

Broncos coach John Fox says the first preseason game is fun because it gives unproven players a chance to prove themselves.

Said Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel, “I didn’t want to put a depth chart out, but they told me I had to. I don’t think you can write a whole lot into the depth chart because we are still evaluating and looking at players. What the depth chart is this week, chances are it will be different next week.”
