I hope my coach Rex Ryan reads this. Bellichik says nothing about his drafted players all off season and when they play well, he downplays it and won’t commend them. Rex has preety much declared Muhammed Wilkerson ( who was invisible last year) a hall of famer and he makes Coples sound like a monster who will eat every qb we face. Meanwhile he is no longer starter and has been getting mauled by vlad ducasse in practice. I am so tired of Rex claiming everyone is great and refuses to criticize or even acknowledge a weakness. It makes it hard to get excited about a player.

Both defenses looked good. Though, if I were a Patriots fan, I’d be a little concerned about the offensive line. Brady’s biggest (maybe his only) weakness as a quarterback is that he can be easily beaten with a consistent pass rush. See: Super Bowls XLII and XVI.

“easily” beaten is a bit of a stretch. Two last minute TD’s allowed by his defense isnt exactly an “easy” win. Add into it the two dropped passes that would have ended the game. And all QB’s are effected by a bad pass rush.

The line is a big concern though. Assuming the three starters they are missing right now dont return for the regular season.

Ninkovich did pretty decent n the snaps I saw too. Can’t watch the game until Sat though. I learned not to put too much emphasis on preseason as far as tune ups after the 04 disaster of a preseason. It’s a time of evaluation and experimentation. I like the pressure the Pats D got though.

It’s funny how the HATERS (jealous fans from other teams, and YES that’s what you are) always want to try and point to Cleveland and say “see that’s what he was”.

Yes it wasn’t great in Cleveland, but it wasn’t as bad as the HATERS want to make it.

They never mention the fact that the entire organization was in disorder.

And who was the head coach the last time the Browns made the playoffs? Oh yeah, it was BB.
And who was the head coach the last time the Browns WON a playoff game? Oh yeah, it was BB.

And then they want to say he “lucked out on Brady”

First BB wasn’t responsible for drafting Brady, it was Bobby Grier. If you want to say they were lucky he was still there in the 6th round that’s fine.
Was it “luck” when BB kept him on the roster as the 4 QB? Who keeps 4 QB’s on the roster? No one!

You people are so stupid, you don’t even realize that by constantly making these same lame comments on every Patriots thread it just proves how envious you are.

Sacks are one of the most overrated statistics in the NFL Jones would have gotten two if Bushrod didn’t grab any part of Jones he could to prevent the sacks. Not to mention the Bears O-line is garbage while Bushrod is a top NFL OT.

While the O-line didn’t look great they were still missing three starters so there’s that to consider not to mention the Patriots offense wasn’t alone in not looking crisp the Saints and especially the Packers didn’t look any better. I’ll start being concerned in September in Nashville if Brady is getting harassed for now it’s just the preseason nobody is game-planning.

CJ and the tailbacks were the only bright side of Pats. The O line is worse that last years Chicago bears line that gave around 50 sacks. That is a big, I mean very BIG concern.

So right about Bushrod. He tried to imply the two holding calls were bad calls and thus blame the replacement officials. They were both good calls and Jones just owned him all night.

randyschwimmer7: Jones had 5 pressures on 14 drop-backs, and drew two holding penalties. He also was in on two stuffed runs for losses. That is 9 impactful plays in only 26 snaps in the first half. He played well against a pretty good left tackle.

I agree JB, really the only time he does it at the end of a players career (Brown, Bruschi, Light -etc) – and at that point he usually lays it on pretty thick
