Greg Schiano and Bucs establish physical running style early

Greg Schiano AP

Greg Schiano may want Doug Martin to be his starting running back.

But he’s going to give LeGarrette Blount a chance too.

The way the Bucs worked their opening drive, both should get chances.

On a 14-play touchdown drive against the Dolphins, the Bucs ran it eight times, with Blount getting seven carries.

Schiano also established the personality he’s been selling, going for a fourth-and-goal from the 1, and Blount repaid the confidence with a touchdown.

7 runs up the middle on one drive? On the next drive 2 of the first 3 plays are runs up the middle? Welcome to the Mike Shula 2k12 offense — all without that Dungy lead defense.

I love the sound of a 14-play TD drive with 8 runs. Bring back the power football.

Its only pre season, as we know…. But when was the last time you saw a Bucs team score touchdowns on their first 2 possesions of any game? Martin had a great block on Cameron Wake, and Blount seems to be more into it now that he has some competition.
SWARM still needs some work though….
