Correct me if I’m wrong but weren’t we lead to believe that after the start of training camp, and with actuall football being played, that we were going to be talking more football? If I wanted rumor and innuendo I’m sure there are sources for that manner of infotainment.

He can put that trophy on the mantle next to all the fantasy Super Bowl trophies he has won. At this point you have to expect Vick to be injured at some point, and guess what? He’s already injured.

Pretty tacky thing for his agent to have said, as it gives the impression that he is capitalizing, or kind of “striking while the iron is hot,” at a completely inappropriate time and place. There is NO upside to this kind of comment. Very sad situation made even sadder.

Probably all of them. Sean Payton’s agent is Don Yee. Pretty sure he represents Jeff Fisher, too.

It was not that long ago that Mike Shanahan’s agent made a statement about him having a contract for life in Denver.

I forget who his agent is or was, but this has the same scenario written all over it.

Andy hasn’t done anything to keep his job in a while, so I can’t see why this is reality for him as per job performance. Timing is queer for the owner to pipe in, I’d as soon just leave everything alone.

What happened to the Reid family was truly heartbreaking, and none of them will ever be the same. The timing may have been a bit bad, but blame Reid’s agent for even bringing this all out so soon after the tragedy, and blame Lurie for being stupid and responding. Both of them should be ashamed of themselves, as all they’ve done is backed everyone involved into a corner.

Reid and Lurie don’t do drama, so this isn’t going to going to be a problem. Lurie divorces his wife and settles within a month; Reid’s son dies and it is back to business a few days later; Earlier this summer Reid made a power play and Lurie fires his right hand man. This is not Rex Reid looking for attention. The one thing I like about this organization is they keep the bs to a minimum. Now if they could only win a super bowl.

You are so off base on this. You said by Reid not responding he is ratifying the agent’s comments. Then you take Lurie to task for responding. Lurie has to respond or else he would be ratifying the comments.
The agent is out of bounds and an idiot and I am sure Lurie is furious that he was forced to address this given what is going on with Andy right now. I wouldn’t be surprised if the agent was doing this intentionally to back Lurie into a corner.

That relationship is much stronger than anyone knows. It can’t be harmed by the imprudent comments of an agent. The relationship between owner and coach was only strengthened while events of the past week unfolded. Lamonte’s suspender-snappiong boast was just that of an agent taking credit for the work of his client. No need for anyone to clarify anything.

It’s obvious Lurie said this because fans like me would flip out if we heard that Reid is coach as long as he is the owner. I’m a season ticket holder and expect a run at the SB every year. If Reid keeps failing, he should be fired. Personally, I believe he should have been let go years ago. Stop making something out of nothing. PLEASE!!!

Hey in case you missed it, his son just passed away. Give me a break with the timing of this.

Contract/Smontrack let Andy have some peace for a while in the headlines. I am sure he doesn’t care if he is with the Eagles for a week or 20 more years.

Losing a son at this age is terrible. Give him a rest with his name in the headlines. Terrible time to talk about “contracts”

Who has more to lose? Lurie will go on being owner no matter what. Reid can be booted at any time – and it’s not like anyone is calling him one of the all time greats. Reid belongs in the Hall of Better Than Average. Rule #1 – never mess with the boss.

I’ve noticed this about Reid….he can make some average QBs look really good. Think about it…..McNabb, Kolb, Vick, Feeley, and Foles (if you watched him play the other night). Each of these QBs have had their best play in Philly. And yes, Vick too. He may hack been disappointing last year (partly due to injury), but I think he was the top fantasy scorer in 2010.

But I’ll will say this. Reid has been there 14 years. One thing he hasnt done is win a Super Bowl.
