With Urlacher’s health still in question, Bears add linebacking depth

Mark Sanchez, Xavier Adibi AP

Despite the fact that Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher has returned to camp, he still isn’t practicing.  Thus, the team is making plans for the possibility of an ongoing inability to practice and play, adding a pair of linebackers on Saturday.

Joining the team are Xavier Adibi and K.C. Asiodu.

Adibi, a middle linebacker who has played for the Texans and Vikings, entered the league as a fourth-round draft pick from Virginia in 2008.  Minnesota claimed Adibi on waivers last September, after he was released by the Texans, who were switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4.  He started five games as a rookie and three in 2010, before appearing in only four games last year.

Asiodu has played for the Rams and Saints, primarily on special teams.  He was out of football last season after being cut by the Packers.

The Bears also added defensive end Aston Whiteside and waived defensive end Ronnie Cameron and cornerback Jeremy Ware.

Urlacher is hurt an needs surgery.. He needs to stop waisting time an get the surgery done an mabe he will be ready for a posible playoff run. Urlacher knew he needed the surgery after the Minnesota game an he didnt do it. So when Emery get rid of him I for one will be with him

Urlacher has been in decline but last year he was pretty damn good.

Missing this much camp is a red flag for sure.

Xavier Adibi was drafted out of Virginia Tech, not Virginia. One is a winning college team, the other has lost every meeting between the two for about 8 or 9 years running. GO HOKIES!!

Makes you wonder why he never got surgery in the offseason. With a contract year, you’d think he’d want to be primed and ready to go. Very odd.

No Brian keep shooting yourself up with Toradol, and keep believing it has no affect on your declining health.

Whether or not Uhrlacher returns makes no difference to the bears.

Any team with Cry baby Cutler and Crazy Marshall is doomed!

“Hmmm… Should I go play football or should I stay home with Jenny McCarthy?” – Brian Urlacher

Dont get me wrong Im a diehard CHICAGO BEARS FAN for life. But Urlacher made a bad choice after that Minnesota game. He needed surgery. I still like Urlacher but what ever Emery do Im with him 100%
