APPackers wide receiver Greg Jennings has missed one preseason game and several practices since suffering a concussion in practice and the Packers still aren’t sure when he’ll be able to return to action.
Jennings got hurt on August 3rd and has not been able to pass the necessary tests that would allow him to resume practicing with the team. He’s been attending meetings while waiting for approval, but that’s all he’s been able to do. Coach Mike McCarthy explained to the media that he’s as unclear on a return date as everybody else.
“I’m shooting in the dark here,” McCarthy said, via Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “There’s testing that’s involved, and it’s not going as well as I know Greg would like. Could be a couple days.”
With the Packers scheduled to play again on Thursday, it seems inevitable that Jennings will miss his second straight preseason game. The Packers have enough depth at receiver to survive Jennings’ absence and his concussion likely pushes James Jones even further away from a potential trade before the end of camp as the Packers have received a reminder about the importance of that depth.

Desmond Bishop is out, Greg Jennings can’t get cleared to put is helmet back on and the LT position looked like a turnstile on Thursday. Adrian Peterson wants Packer fans to remind him how funny injuries are..
Too bad for the packers, they are not the same team without him. That became obvious last year when he went down. It also exposed Jordy Nelson as a WR who is most effictive as a number 2 WR and not a number 1 WR.
Jordy had huge numbers when Jennings was out. Look it up.
Nelson was exposed when jennings went down. That much is obvious. 305 yds and 5 tds in 3 games without jennings exposed him as not a very good wide receiver.
James Jones wasn’t going to be traded either way.
Beginning of the end. Actually, I think we’re up to the middle of the end by now.
Uh oh. Better not send him over the middle when he comes back. Oh wait, this is 2012. Never mind, don’t worry about it, roger will make sure its safe for the offense.
Randall Cobb breakout season anyone?..far more sheer athleticism than either Jordy or Greg imo.
Next man up. Jordy and Randall Cobb will fill the void and shine until Jennings is ready go. Here’s to a speedy recovery. GO PACK GO
