APDolphins defensive end Cameron Wake didn’t practice on Tuesday, one day after he was involved in a car accident.
According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Wake has no visible injuries as a result of the accident, but his car was totaled when he hit another car at an intersection on Monday afternoon. Wake’s BMW crashed into a Lexus that was headed in the other direction and trying to make a left turn at an intersection.
The driver of the other car was cited for impeding Wake’s right of way. Police say that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
Wake watched the first part of practice from the field and then went back into the team’s facility. It’s unknown if Wake will play on Friday against the Panthers at this point and rookie Olivier Vernon would likely see a bump in playing time if Wake is unable to play in the team’s second preseason game.

You know, you could have made the headline like “Cameron Wake unhurt after car accident” so people arent wondering if he’s dead before getting into the story
But i guess that might lead to less page views…
Just so long as none of us have to go to Cameron’s wake.
I’ll be here all week.
Glad he’s Ok. At least he wasn’t drunk and didn’t leave the scene. Sitting out the next game hurts the evaluation of the defense/scheme (if it is even used) but it does allow for a better look at some guys like Vernon. Thanks for a story about the Dolphins that does not involve Chad Johnson
Wake will win Defensive Player of the year.
Glad he’s okay but he should expect a fine for leading with his head.
Probably will be his best hit of the year!
So glad the Giants cut this guy a few years ago… (face palm)
In worse trouble than first thought if Vernon gets too much run. Need Wake to take of himself so we can at least win a couple games this year…smh
