The Steelers lost a left tackle when Mike Adams went down with a knee injury in the preseason opener, but they gained one on Tuesday.

Mark Kaboly of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the Steelers have activated Max Starks from the physically-unable-to-perform list. With Adams out for about two weeks after a shaky opening performance, Starks stands a good chance of being in the starting lineup when the start of the regular season comes around.

He won’t be in the lineup for this weekend’s game against the Colts, though. Starks, who tore his ACL seven months ago, won’t be able to fully participate in practice until Friday because of CBA rules, which means Marcus Gilbert will be on Ben Roethlisberger’s blind side for this game.

If Starks proves healthy and able to handle the job, Gilbert will move back to the right side and Adams will likely get a little more time to acclimate to the NFL game before he gets back into the starting lineup.
