Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning might be tired of talking about getting hit, but his bosses are in no hurry to hasten the process.
According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, Manning will only play the first quarter and “possibly” one series in the second when the Broncos play the Seahawks Saturday.
Manning only played one possession last week in the opener.
Even before he inherited a quarterback who you’d want to handle with kid gloves, coach John Fox was a guy who hated putting his starters out there long in August.
And considering the stakes involved with Manning, it makes sense. There’s absolutely nothing for him to prove in August, so as long as he’s comfortable, putting him out there as little as necessary is the smart way to handle it.
