Peyton Manning may get one series in the second quarter Saturday

Peyton Manning AP

Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning might be tired of talking about getting hit, but his bosses are in no hurry to hasten the process.

According to Mike Klis of the Denver Post, Manning will only play the first quarter and “possibly” one series in the second when the Broncos play the Seahawks Saturday.

Manning only played one possession last week in the opener.

Even before he inherited a quarterback who you’d want to handle with kid gloves,  coach John Fox was a guy who hated putting his starters out there long in August.

And considering the stakes involved with Manning, it makes sense. There’s absolutely nothing for him to prove in August, so as long as he’s comfortable, putting him out there as little as necessary is the smart way to handle it.

Even one quarter might too much. Chris Clemons and Bruce Irvin are coming for him.

Get over it. He will take a hit just like any other QB in the league. People are making way too much of this. Peyton will be fine. Good luck Peyton and there are a lot of Colt fans that are rooting for you to win another SB.

Thank you, finally someone making sense. Every game broncos have coming up, all you hear is how a certain is gonna take him out. I look at Peyton no different from any other QB, yes he will get sack eventually but he’s gonna get up, dust himself off and go to the next play.

he is very stiff necked when he drops back and avoids going to the right entirely, i dont think hes is fine. .. sounds like they might possibly be scared of him looking silly vs. Seattle’s secondary

How about just staying quiet and watch the game, you see more of him this time and he can throw on all sides of the field. I know because I’ve seen the broncos training camp live.
