Buccaneers running back LeGarrette Blount left Friday night’s preseason game after his leg bent underneath him in an ugly way, but there was good news after the game: Blount should be fine.

Although it looked like Blount’s knee may have been injured when he was hit, Bucs coach Greg Schiano said Blount’s knee was fine, and that a strained groin was the only issue.

I think he’ll be OK,” Schiano said of Blount. “I don’t think it’s too bad. It’s not a knee. It’s more up in his groin area. [The trainers] are not really sure exactly. He just got bent in a funny way. He’s obviously going to be sore, but other than that I think he’ll be OK.”

But while Schiano was pleased with the prognosis on Blount, the Bucs didn’t have much else to be happy about. They lost 30-7, and the offense did nothing impressive: The Bucs’ only score came after Tampa Bay’s defense put the offense on the field at the 2-yard line. Blount dodging a bullet was one of the few pieces of good news for Tampa Bay.
