Banning guns only makes criminals out of the people that have them and never commit crimes with them. The criminals are STILL gonna get the guns. It will just make robbing, killing, and kidnapping that much easier when they know the person they are committing a crime against, has no way to protect themselves.

How hard is it to understand?

Guns are responsible for shootings the same way forks are responsible for people being fat. Ban guns? You do know it’s a civil right, right? Where are the “ban guns” crowd when 800k felonies are PREVENTED by them every year?

If you read the article, the shooter claims to have “accidentally” shot the victim. The shooter did call 911.

“Breeden said the shooter was with his wife at the time and called 911 after the incident saying he had accidentally shot the victim. The shooter did not try to leave the scene.

The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Breeden said Saturday the victim is in stable conditions with non life-threatening injuries…

The suspect in the case was taken into custody for questioning and released by detectives.”

This suggests to me that the shooter did not illegally have the gun or he would have been arrested.

I do agree that the shootings we hear about are a growing societal issue and it seems that people seem to be quicker to turn to extreme violence.

I am tired of reading comments about it being Raiders fans or 9er fans or Eagles fans or whatever. As @49erstim pointed out, this is a societal issue. It isn’t about gun laws, regardless of how you feel about guns. It’s about idiots and what should be done with them.

How can get people who feel like they have such a worthless life that they are willing to end it at a football tailgate? They have such little invested in the sytem that they are willing to end their life or someone’s else over a silly argument at a tailgate.

Not sure what can be done, but bigger issues are at play than just guns or a fanbase of a particular team.

GLENDALE, AZ – A 30-year-old man was shot in the face during an altercation in a parking lot near University of Phoenix Stadium Friday night while the Arizona Cardinals took on the Oakland Raiders.

Glendale police say the incident occurred around 9:30 in the ‘purple’ parking lot near the Hampton Inn.

Officer Tracey Breeden with Glendale Police said the incident began as an argument between football fans.

Breeden said the shooter was with his wife at the time and called 9-1-1 after the incident. The shooter did not try to leave the scene.

The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Breeden said he is expected to survive.

There were no other injuries, and the shooting suspect is being questioned by detectives. Both men are Arizona residents.

BTW is it so hard for some of to click a link to read the actual story? The shooter called 911 and stayed until the police arrived. Criminals typically run away after they commit a crime. Why don’t you shut your pie holes about gun control until more facts come out because if the shooter calls 911 and waits for the cops, they must feel pretty good about pulling that trigger.

Having lived in Phoenix and having had a family member at the game let me just say this…..

Stricter gun laws: criminals do NOT follow laws!…hence them being criminals.

Phoenix is just as bad as all major metropolitan cities. The kids think they’re bada$$es because they carry guns….which they bought ILLEGALLY.

This is a societal problem. Men used to handle things differently.

The shooter was apprehended at the scene; the victim was taken to a local hospital. According to the Arizona Republic, the injuries were life-threatening.

The second amendment isn’t in the constitution to protect hunting rights. It’s there to give the people power against a tyrannical government. It is supposed to keep the government in check. The more laws we let the government put in place to limit gun rights the less free we are.

The shooter was going to get a gun no matter what the law is. It’s just tragic that a person can’t go to a SPORTS event without fear of being attacked. But why should that be any different from going to the store, walking your dog, going out for an ice cream, or anything else people want to do in America. It’s not the gun laws that are a problem. It’s society. When kids(and adults) look to violence as a solution, we’re all screwed.
I hope the victim recovers and the shooter figures out what he did can’t be accepted in our country.
