Ben Roethlisberger, for example, is a GOOD quarterback. However, in the two Super Bowls the Steelers have won with him at QB, Roethlisberger has thrown a combined ONE touchdown pass, which leads me to believe that others must’ve picked up the slack. That’s TEAM chemistry.
Winning with TEAM chemistry in the absence of a so-called “elite” quarterback is not that unusual in the NFL.
The league’s history is full of success stories that didn’t include ESPN-approved superstar quarterbacks.
I agree with you that the Jets acquiring Tebow was a dumb idea.

While what you said about those QB’s being a cut above the rest may be true, all the other QB’s are not all on the same level. Some actually have more talent than others… and most have more ability than Sanchez and Tebow combined (Stafford, Eli, Rivers, Romo, Big Ben, and the list goes on). I can see even a few of them being future Super Bowl champs.

I think Jets fans need to accept that the Tebow trade did not help the team much, they just added another QB who doesn’t seem good enough. I think a trade or signing of a solid WR would have helped their situation much more.

The Jets also gave the Giants extra plays with a special teams penalty…take that away and Manning’s night was even less average.

The guy who might be the league’s best “overall and complete” QB is Cam Newton. Newton accounted for 35 TDs last season as a ROOKIE.
It’s always been my belief that QBs (unless they play offense, defense and special teams) are not responsible for wins and losses but are only responsible for protecting the ball and placing their offenses into end zones. Based on my own theory, the much-maligned Tony Romo is also among the “elite.”

But this doesn’t excuse bad play from Sanchez or Tebow, but they were all bad.
