T.O. gets the start, drops long touchdown pass

AP

Surprisingly, receiver Terrell Owens started for the Seahawks in their Saturday night preseason game in Denver.

Owens rewarded coach Pete Carroll for the show of faith by dropping what would have been a 46-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Matt Flynn.

Running a deep post pattern on a play-action fake, Owens was open for an over-the-shoulder grab.  And the rainbow from Flynn dropped right over T.O.’s shoulder — and right through his hands.

Owens has no receptions for the game.

  1. This is kind of in the “well, other than that, how was the play Mrs. Lincoln” department, but….aside from the drop, that was a perfect pass, and T.O. was able to get open deep.

Seattle’s offense is a work in progress….but with a defense that’s forced five turnovers in six quarters this preseason, they don’t need to be the Saints or Packers to win games.

  2. hasn’t played football in almost two years.. late addition to training camp.. & his first game action has a poor showing.

let him live. it’s the preseason.

at least the guy got open..

  3. Flynn put that right on the money. I understand T.O. has been out of football for a while but he SHOULD have caught that one…….NO EXCUSES!

  4. Stop picking on this guy!!!

He was genuine about his demands for the ball and you’re hiding extreme hatred for the guy!!!

Florio, don’t be a coward!!! You said it was over for him and he got a sniff!!! You said Ocho would do well and now he has no chance to even stink up the place!!! Unlike you, he’ll fight!!!! He’ll fight to do good for himself!!! Just because he doesn’t wear a skirt or pigtails like Tim Tebow (or Ocho) it doesn’t mean that his relentlessness is a crime!!! His relentlessness is the only reason why he’s been misunderstood!!!!

He’ll get 10 touchdowns and your days in the prediction business will be over!!!!

  5. For some reason, I find myself rooting for TO. I really wanted to see him rise from the ashes.

But he dropped a couple passes. Good accurate throws that hit him in the chest. 3 passes were behind him, but 2 were right there. He’ll be lucky to see the ball much next week ‘cuz Flynn will be trying to win a starting spot over Wilson, which means he need to throw a couple TDs. Sadly, I think TO might have seen his last chance pass.

Yo Raj. Perhaps english isn’t your first language. Do you think relentlessness mean all these things?

Self-absorbed, has a persecution syndrome, takes too many pills accidently, cries at unexpected times, blames his teammates for anything bad that happens, is never satisfied with his touches even if the coach goes out of his way feed him, divides the locker room, is delusional at times, torches his former quarterbacks time after time, etc.

If you want a definition of relentlessness, look up Jerry Rice. He wasn’t misunderstood. Or bounced from team to team to team to team until he finally faded into irrelevance. Hell, T.O. can’t even carry Rice’s dancing shoes…..
