The Redskins may or may not have lost Saturday night’s “game” against the Bears (I didn’t care enough to pay attention to the final score and don’t care enough to look it up, since it’s completely meaningless), but they’ve definitely avoided a more important loss.
An MRI shows that Redskins safety Brandon Meriweather has no significant damage to his left knee, according to Mark Maske of the Washington Post. Per Maske, it’s still unknown when Meriweather will return.
Meriweather, a former first-round pick in New England, signed with the Redskins as a free agent during the offseason. He has been on track to winning a starting job.
The news about Meriweather comes on the heels of the news that linebacker Brian Orakpo suffered no serious injury to his shoulder.
