Patrick Chung heads to the locker room too

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick isn’t the only player to make an early exit from Monday night’s game with an injury.

Patriots safety Patrick Chung has also returned to the locker room after picking up an injury. Chung looked shaky after making a tackle on Eagles running back LeSean McCoy and his teammates helped direct him to the sideline where he met up with the team’s training staff.

Chung was one of the few Patriots starters to get on the field Monday night, making his injury all the more painful since the team was obviously trying to avoid this exact situation. Chung’s value in the secondary can’t really be overstated after watching New England try and mostly fail to replace him during the eight games he missed with injury last season.

We’ll keep an eye out for any updates on Chung’s condition and pass them along whenever they come along.

His teammates needed to direct him to his sidelines?! Good Lord! How many assaults to the head must the average player receive over the span of a lifetime in organized football? It’s truly scary to contemplate.

Chung’s the best player on what was one of the worst defenses in the history of the NFL last year. Good thing Brady rested, he’s gonna need to put up 50 points a game if Chung misses any time.

Death, taxes, and Chung will go down with an injury. The guy needs to eat a sandwich or something.

I like the guy’s energy, but he’s fragile too. He can’t seem to stay on the field.
