Heck right now everyone is 0/0….why would anyone want their gm to aspire for second place….in my book 2nd is the same as first loser…fact is they haven’t looked like contenders in the preseason….we’ll all know alot after week 1…but no one should concede the division till after a great deal of fur flies…

Absolutely perfect response. Nix made no guarantee nor did he trash any part of the Patriot organization. He simply said that he believes winning the AFC is a realistic goal and it is.

It is nice to see the Bills getting some support.
It is true that some day there will be a football season which finds the Bills more successful than the Pats.
That season however, is not this season.
In the past ten or so years I think the Pats have appeared in the Super Bowl more often than they have lost a game to the Bills.
The Bills have a nice starting unit on defense and if every player can go the entire season in perfect health they may shock the world.
Naw, who am I kidding. Not enough depth. By the end of the season, when the Past are starting to really get serious, the Bills will be playing out the string, as usual.
And by the way, all those years the Pats were historically bad, (Yeah, we remember that, it seemed like it would never end) they had historically bad ownership. Thinks are better now. Bob Kraft really is the smartest guy in the room.

Seriously, what was he supposed to say? “We gotta win the division but we’re gonna need a miracle to beat the pats, cuz quite frankly, that Tom Brady gives me nightmares.”

Nix is right, Buffalo often does “compete” with their competition by keeping games close, but they have a really hard time winning.

I once had a coach tell me that if you dont plan on winning every game, there is no point in playing it, cuz you already lost.

@gadzod first off the will never be relavent untill they fix that terrible defense. Secondly stevie johnson is garbage so its not a big loss when hes out of the Game. Thirdly just accept the bills will be in third place in the AFC east u guys had a good first few games but the real Bill team showed up in the 2nd half. And i understand fred jackson was injured but this is football every team plays with injuries the Packers won a super bowl with like ten ppl on IR so thats a lame excuse and noone is losing sleep over the bills defense cuz they sucked lol

We beat New England the first time 34-31, and the 2nd time, Week 17, blew a 21-0 lead and played the game without Stevie Johnson, as Chan Gailey was trying to make a point on attitudes. This was also played without Eric Wood and Freddy Jackson. We’re not scared of New England. Brady only has a few years left. As soon as he is gone, New England will be the cellar dwellers again. Let’s not mention the Bills own the All-Time record, DESPITE New England winning 20 of the last 22 games.

buddy…you’re sooo wrong. Patriot fans certainly remember those painful 1-15, 2-14 seasons…the Dick MacPherson era, Rod Rust, the sexual harrassment in the locker room. We remember, which is why we have very much enjoyed the past TWELVE years (and counting). Real fans know success is fleeting.. More impressive is SUSTAINED success, which is something Kraft, Belichick and Brady have brought to the fans of NE.

The Bills don’t give the Patriots fits at all. 20-2 in the Brady era and an average score of 28-13. The Bills look like they are better now, but they have been tomato cans for more than 10 years.

So you’re upset that Nix says he’s not scared of NE in the preseason, where they haven’t had time to prove themselves on the field. Then you turn around and tell him to ask the Texans and Pats how little they miss Anderson and Mario? You see the conundrum there right? All we have is talk at this point.

And I’d also like to point out that these teams haven’t win a Super Bowl in a while and NE has had brutal drafts lately. I’ll follow the Giants plan of building through the trenches. Also, 7 starters (Dareus Williams Shepard Williams Gilmore Byrd Wilson) on the D alone were drafted/undrafted FA pickups by Buffalo. And I think on offense you’ve got another 8 (Stevie Freddie Glenn Hairston levitre wood graham Nelson) just to be sure.

Dude…most of the Patriots fans I know have not forgoten. We were fans in hte early 70s and we were still with them through tough times. There is no need to hate. Enjoy your team’s sucess and appreciate good football, even if it is the expense of your team. They will be back as contenders in short order.

Lets be real last season for the Bills was a fluke. Yea Fitzpatrick had a great first few games but once teams got familiar with his scheme he was awful to watch. And what boggles my mind is how the Bills gave him that terrible contract. Then you have Stevie Johnson aka Stevie J who is more worried about his celebration rather than actually catching ball. Last year that game against the Jets summed him up when it gets down to pressure time Stevie Johnson CRACKS hes OVERRATED. Then we have this defense let up as many points as they scored. I mean their close to being as bad as the patriots are defensively. This team is going to be 6 -10 or 7-9 because lets be real they are not beating the steelers or the ravens. They will not beat the jets . They will not beat the 49ers and they will split with the pats let alone everyone else they will be playing.

This is the best time to be a Bills fan. Nobody’s played a game that matters, you can pretend your QB isn’t a backup being paid like a starter, and your high-priced free agents haven’t had a chance to get hurt or disappoint.

Ask anyone in Houston or New England if they’re really missing Mario Williams or Mark Anderson. You build winners in the NFL through the draft, not by making a splash in free agency to sell tickets. I’m impressed the Bills didn’t draft a running back in the first round for like the ninth year in a row.
