I have this theory. Devin McCourty had an awesome rookie season and said to his twin brother down in Tennessee “Let me help you out. I’ll go down there and set you up for a big payday. You come up and learn from Belichick.”

This theory is much more palatable than admitting the New England McCourty can’t maintain leverage and looks lost whenever the ball is thrown to his outside shoulder. It helps me sleep at night.

You always take a “stand” aginst the Patriots. Two years ago, Devin McCourtey almost won D R of the year (lost it to Sue) Last year he hit the dreaded sophmore jinx. Lets wait another year before making such harsh judgments.

No, the better McCourty (that’s how you spell it) was drafted in the 1st round and must be licking his chops after this twin bro got this mega deal.

Both brothers had major struggles in their second season (Jason came out a season earlier). Like Jason, Devin will have a huge bounce back 3rd season and all will be clicking.

Was a solid contributor his rookie season as more of a role player, had his 2010 season thrown off track by a broken arm, turned in a good season last year.

He’s on the rise, he’s well-respected in the locker room….it makes sense to lock him down. They have the cap room.
